Driving to Grandma’s House

Fun fact. I was born in a very small town in eastern North Carolina. My grandma still lives in that area, though everyone else is long gone. I haven’t lived there since I was five years old, but have been back countless times. Recently, I returned to North Carolina for the first time in four years. We landed in Raleigh and drove through a two-lane country road for a couple of hours to go see her.

Here are a collection of photos from the car window, shot on the OM SYSTEM latest camera, the OM-3.

A few things of note.

The first house I lived in. Looks much different now than it did in the early 80s.

Grandpa

Grandpa’s office of a few decades.

My dad’s middle school, a former all-black school that was desegregated / integrated. My dad was bused across the train tracks to attend school here. Now closed many years.
