On July 11th, 2025 - my Leica M11P Safari was being shipped via 2nd Day Air from a local UPS Store in the East Bay in California. That day, the camera went missing from the store.

Camera Model: Leica M11P Safari
Serial Number: 6006421

Identifiers:

  • The camera was being shipped to Leica because the frame selector arm had fallen off. I screwed it back on by hand, but was being shipped to Leica for a proper tightening and check over.

  • It was shipped without a battery. Leica advises to not send a battery. If you come across a Safari with a black battery, this means the original battery was replaced. It’s also possible that Leica has begun shipping their green batteries by the time this camera shows up. The serial number is most important.

Other Info:

  • Police have been notified.

  • Leica is aware that this camera has been stolen.

If you see this camera listed for sale, please screenshot both the camera and the seller and contact me. Additionally, if there is a Safari for sell with no actual photos, always request actual photos and verify the serial number before purchasing. SAFEGUARD yourself in this era but requesting the serial number and checking with Leica USA or Leica Wetzlar to ensure that number is indeed a Safari number and is not a stolen camera. Beware of AI-generated serial number photos.
